I have a confession to make. Family sessions are not my most favorite genre to shoot. Not because I don't believe in the importance of creating family memories through photos because I do. The exhausting task of chasing little kids while I try not to drop a heavy camera, to the challenge of getting everyone to look at the same time, to the dad who just wants to "get this shoot over with" to crack a smile— are some challenges I would much rather not have to deal with. But photographing the McHughs is quite the game changer! I've been doing Kim's hair for several years and I simply adore her and her family. When she signed up for a photo shoot I secretly did a happy dance :) Even during the editing process I couldn't stop smiling as I recounted how much fun working with them has been, from planning and putting the outfits together to fit the vision that I already had in mind, to doing the hair and make-up, to the day we laughed and danced at the studio.
As the saying goes, "the best part about memories..is making them." I'm so grateful for the opportunity to have built some to last a lifetime with these three.
