The past couple of months have been a whirlwind! I have recently finished training with Google to become a certified Google Trusted Photographer. Shortly after I passed all of their requirements, I photographed and published my first official Google Business Photos tour! For those of you who have not heard of this great marketing tool that Google offers, check out http://www.effielegaspi.com/bostonbusinessphotos. Here is Inde Salon and Skin Care's 360-degree virtual tour which appears on Google search results, Google Maps, and their own Google+ Local page: (click inside and use your mouse or arrow keys to navigate)
I could go on and on about this new and exciting opportunity that I can now offer other business owners in and around Boston but I will just state the fact that Google, the world's NUMBER ONE search engine, hosts this for free, 24/7, 365 days a year. How unbelievably cool is that?
On another note, I took some time to 'sharpen the saw' (The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People) while away at a recent photography conference I attended in St. Louis called After Dark Education. This was my fourth time attending an AD event and the best thing about it is, while traveling and learning from some of the best photographers I also made a handful of amazing and über-talented new friends from all over the map. On my last day in St. Louis, I managed to take some photos of the beautiful hotel we stayed in, The Union Station Hotel. Take a peek..
Lastly, they say there is a first time for everything. I want to share with you a couple of first-time experiences I had this spring. First: You know that song "This girl is on fire" by Alicia Keys? Well.. this girl, literally, was on fire. Oh, don't feel bad. It was ONLY my hair. I was at a social gathering and it must have been a good conversation I was in that I did not notice the back of my hair has ignited (candles + hair dipping ≠ romance). Lucky me, I have a good amount of hair on my head. This first-timer is what I hope to be the one and only in its category. That's that. Second: I was asked to be one of the models for one of the styled shoots at After Dark. It was the Walking Dead Tribute photo shoot. So, take a wild guess as to what my first glamourous modeling role was? Drum roll, please....you guessed it right, a zombie! At first I was inclined to say no, but knowing that my soon to be 14-yr-old would dig it, I did it. And it was FUN as hell. Thanks, Jon Allyn, for giving me permission to share this awesome work of art:
May the zombies be with you,
